Mesh in Vietnam: the first opportunity may be the platform that already owns the merchants.
Mesh has built connectivity across hundreds of wallets, exchanges and blockchains. In Vietnam, the next step may be finding the PSP or platform that can turn that connectivity into transaction volume.

Executive thesis
Distribution may matter more than direct merchant acquisition.
Mesh addresses a persistent crypto-payment constraint: users hold different assets across different wallets, exchanges and networks, while the receiving platform wants one configured settlement asset. Mesh sits between those fragmented sources and the destination.
Vietnam already has broad bank-account and QR-payment infrastructure. The sharper entry question is therefore not how Mesh can build another merchant network. It is which payment service provider or platform can distribute Mesh connectivity across an existing network.
The first Vietnam opportunity for Mesh may not be a merchant. It may be the payment platform that already owns the merchants.
01 · Connectivity layer
Mesh is solving fragmentation behind the payment experience.
Mesh states that its deposit infrastructure supports more than 300 wallets and exchanges across 24+ blockchain networks. SmartFunding can route and convert assets at the time of funding so a user can send what they already hold while the receiving platform gets its configured asset.
Coverage, performance and customer-growth figures in this publication are reported by Mesh. They indicate operating scale, but should not be treated as independently audited metrics.

02 · Scaling phase
Capital, APAC leadership and platform use cases are now aligned.
In January 2026, Mesh announced a US$75 million Series C at a US$1 billion valuation, taking total disclosed funding above US$200 million. In April, the company appointed former Binance Chief of Staff Jason Ne Win as its first CEO of APAC, with a mandate that includes localized payment rails and deeper wallet and financial-institution integrations.
Proof at the platform layer
After Kalshi consolidated crypto-deposit paths onto Mesh, Mesh reported that monthly deposit count increased 13.4x, monthly active depositors increased 17x and live deposit paths expanded from three to 30 token-and-network combinations across 14 chains over a ten-month period.
Mesh also provides wallet-ownership verification for Deel's stablecoin payout flow. In that model, Mesh verifies the destination account while Deel sends the funds. Together, the two examples show three distinct infrastructure roles: payments, deposits and verification.
03 · Vietnam market signal
The merchant-acceptance layer already has meaningful scale.
NAPAS reported that by October 2025, nearly 90 million mobile-banking accounts could scan VietQR. During the first ten months of 2025, VietQR transaction volume increased more than 52% year-on-year and transaction value increased 85%. NAPAS also reported an average of more than 32 million system transactions per day.
Vietnam is also expanding cross-border QR interoperability. This makes a distribution-led structure more compelling: one integration with a PSP or platform may reach many existing merchants without asking Mesh to build merchant acceptance from zero.

04 · Initial account map
Five PSPs and platforms worth qualifying first.
These are validation candidates selected from an initial NEWR map of 15 accounts. They are not confirmed Mesh partners, endorsements or recommendations to transact.
9Pay / 9Remit
A payment intermediary with cross-border QR activity. Its June 2026 material discussed research into stablecoin-funded QR payments at the Da Nang International Financial Center—an exploration signal, not evidence of an approved product launch.
Payoo
Payoo has deployed VietQRGlobal and describes an operating network of more than 30,000 acceptance points. That distribution layer may be more relevant to Mesh than acquiring merchants individually.
SQRIL
SQRIL lists Vietnam among its “Live Today” QR markets. The validation question is whether Mesh's wallet and exchange connectivity can add value to those existing destination rails.
LocalPay
LocalPay positions itself as a non-custodial stablecoin wallet serving tourists and digital nomads in Southeast Asia. A possible Mesh role is reducing funding friction from users' existing wallets or exchanges.
FinFan
FinFan is a Vietnam-based cross-border remittance fintech. Its November 2025 MoU with Thunes points to a different use case: wallet verification or source connectivity linked to remittance infrastructure and a VND endpoint.

05 · Use-case stack
Three payment flows to test before choosing a market-entry path.
Merchant acceptance
Existing wallet or exchange → Mesh → authorized conversion or payment partner → merchant receives VND.
Platform funding
Replace withdrawal, address copying, network selection, swapping and deposit steps with: connect → choose asset → deposit.
Payout verification
User connects a wallet → Mesh verifies ownership → payroll, freelancer or remittance platform sends the payout.
06 · Decision requirements
A local endpoint and legal operating model have not yet been proven.
NEWR has not found public evidence that Mesh currently operates a VND settlement rail or has announced an official payment partner in Vietnam. A Vietnamese PSP's payment-intermediary licence also does not by itself establish authorization for a crypto-payment product.
Mesh + which partner + which payment flow + how much better than today?
07 · NEWR assessment
Validate the distribution partner before the merchant market.
VALIDATEMesh may not need to begin in Vietnam by finding an individual merchant. If a partner already owns merchant distribution, wallet users or a remittance corridor, Mesh can focus on what it does best: connectivity, routing and verification.
The opportunity is not another acceptance network. It is the infrastructure that makes an existing network more useful.
